Letters and Other Words
The speaker writes this poem about his father. In the beginning, his father is described as a drunken man who cannot face his problems and lock himself in his room. When he was drunk, he would become unconscious of what he is doing. The speaker's mother, on the hand, had her flaws as well but they were not as bad as his dad's. Their marriage only lasted for 14 years, and they both were the victims in this tragic marriage. As time passed by, his father married another woman and had a girl. The speaker implies that time would change a person, no matter how awful the person has been.

Van Gogh Portrait Poem
Life is grey, black, and blue,
Everything is tilted and twisted,
There will be no more smile and happiness on face.
As time passes by
You will find yourself an old, bogged eyed, and sick man.
Life may seem beautiful as first,
but you will discover that it is just a crumpled piece of paper.
Everything is tilted and twisted,
There will be no more smile and happiness on face.
As time passes by
You will find yourself an old, bogged eyed, and sick man.
Life may seem beautiful as first,
but you will discover that it is just a crumpled piece of paper.
